Download ZUNE and connect your Windows Phone to PC
Today we’ll talk about Zune, the software Microsoft uses to get your Windows Phone connected to PC.
This post is for newbies, but if you just need the suite, grab it at the end of the post.
So guys, first of all, you have to Download ZUNE. You can get it by clicking HERE or grabbing it at the end of this post.
Then, just follow the following steps:
1. Install Zune and wait for the installation to finish.
2. Open Zune and connect your Windows Phone 7 device through USB.
3. Wait till it rec0gnizes your device. Here you are.
Now let’s learn how to sync Photos, Videos and Music with your device. To do that, just put the files you want to sync into the “Music/Photos/Videos” folders on your PC.
For example if you want “Adele – Rolling in the deep.mp3” on your smartphone, you’ve to copy it in the Music folder of your PC.
After copying the file, it will immediately appear on Zune Collection. Now drag the elements you want to be on your device over the icon of your Smartphone (the one on bottom-left of the app) and wait for syncing (it takes a while).
Unplug your device to get access to the content you’ve just synced or simply close the Zune app if you want to keep your phone charging through PC.
Note: Zune doesn’t allow the transfer of Office documents, worksheets and slideshows. However you can still e-mail them to your device or use the SkyDrive 25GB cloud service.
To add more PC folders to the Zune Collection, just go to Settings and add a new path.
Zune also supports wireless connection. It’s a bit useless (since you have to keep your device connected to the AC power to use it). Anyway if you want it, just go to the Settings and enable it while your device is connected through USB.
